In this documentary-style alternate history, we explore a historically grounded scenario in which the Muslim conquest of Iberia never happens and no Umayyad Al-Andalus forms. Using institutions, economics, diplomacy, and military logistics as the core lens, the analysis follows how Visigothic Iberia might have evolved through internal European dynamics, how North Africa and the western Mediterranean would reorganize without an Iberian Islamic power center, and how trade routes, coinage, urban growth, and knowledge transmission would shift toward Italy, Byzantium, and the central Mediterranean. We also examine second-order consequences: the absence of a Reconquista frontier, the transformation of crusading narratives, the different rise of Iberian kingdoms, and how Atlantic exploration and European state formation might unfold under altered geopolitical constraints.
