The Sega Saturn was the king of shooters during the 32bit era with almost 60 shmups released for the system. In Japan it was a gaming console for shoot em up and fighting game enthusiasts with near arcade perfect ports of some incredible games like Batsugun, Battle Garegga, and DoDonpachi - some of the hardest shooters of the time. Companies like Psikyo and Raizing released some incredible ports and Cave was no slouch in delivering a great port of their bullet hell masterpiece.
