Holocaust survivor, Jacobus Van Der Geest, is one of only seven people who escaped the Buchenwald concentration camp during World War II. Jacobus escaped on March 3, 1943 by pretending to be dead during the camp's 5am roll call. In his testimony with USC Shoah Foundation, Jacobus details arriving at Buchenwald, enduring horrendous medical experiments, and escaping.
