Former President Jimmy Carter joined us for the Civil Rights Summit on the evening of April 8, 2014. In this clip, President Carter recounts the Camp David Peace Accords in September, 1978. Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin asked President Carter to sign a photo of President Carter, President Sadat and Prime Minister Begin for his grandchildren. On the last day of the Peace Accords, President Carter knocked on Prime Minister Begin's cabin door and delivered the photos, addressed personally to each one of Begin's grandchildren. Begin and Carter were both moved to tears. During his discussion with LBJ Presidential Library Director Mark Updegrove, President Carter spoke about the issues raised in his latest book, A Call to Action: Women Religion, Violence and Power, saying social injustice among women and girls is the human rights issue that's most concerning to him today.
