Last month I visited Escort's two shops located in Toda City, Saitama. Shiobara mentioned that they had just completed Ando's new motor; the motor that is sure to get him to a sub-50 lap at Tsukuba Circuit. I wanted to get some progress shots for the next 80R and also catch up with the guys. Ando and the team were headed up to Hokkaido the following week to run Tokachi International Speedway. They were taking Ando's practice EVO up the week before, and once the new motor was in the race EVO, they would transport that up to break the course record. This would bring them only one track shy of achieving their goal of having the record at every international course in Japan. A goal they dubbed the 'Takumi Project' back in 2019. The final track they need is Motegi, which had previously rained out last time they were there. This video was shot in 4:3 on accident.
