Your initial swivel knife cuts on a leather tooling project will set the tone for the remainder of the process. It's important to cut in all of your line work properly to help set up the other tools for when they are implemented. Improper swivel knife cuts can break up the flow of a design and stand out in the final results. Using the swivel knife in the correct manner will lead to more professional looking results. In this video I will show you how I prefer to carve most of my initial line work to begin the tooling process and help enhance the flow of a floral design! I am carving on scrap Hermann Oak full grain natural vegetable tanned leather and using a Leather Wranglers swivel knife with a 1/2" barrel and 1/4" blade!
