Sikhs Rescued Muslim Women-Children Stranded in Haryana’s Mosque | Nuh | Gurugram | Monu Manesar

In the midst of the communal riots in Haryana, an incident like this would show you that humanity still exists, and no communal hatred could ever take it away completely. People from the Sikh community rescued helpless Muslim women and children who were stranded in the mosque after the mob attacked the Shahi Jama Masjid of Haryana on Tuesday afternoon. The lane adjacent to the mosque has a sizable population of Sikhs, and there is a Gurdwara too. After the mob ran away, the Sikh community members approached to help the Muslims stranded in the mosque. They further arranged buses for helpless Muslim women and children. The stranded muslims were further helped by the Sikh community members in returning back to their villages. The Shahi Jama Masjid was attacked by the mob on August 1st, around 2 pm, just hours after the peace march was held by police. According to the statements given to media by the caretaker of the mosque, the mob of around 200 barged into the mosque, with their faces covered and then they began destroying whatever came into their path. The mosque has around 50 people, including women and children. They were mostly the families of the caretaker, who stayed back in the mosque after getting the assurance of safety from the locals and the authorities. The helpless Muslim families were hiding themselves in the inner rooms of the mosque after the mob barged into the mosque with destructive weapons. The Muslim families would have died in the hands of the mob if the mobs would have found them in the mosque. But, luckily the whole vandalism went for only 15-20 minutes. The police soon after this, rushed into the mosque and fired a few gun shots in the air. As soon as the mob heard the gunshots of police, they ran away. The mob entered the mosque after the police deployed for the mosque's safety rushed to a nearby place after noise was heard. The mob used this distraction to enter the mosque. Not just religious places, but the private properties of the public were attacked by the mob. Many people have lost their shops and businesses when it was set ablaze by the mobs. The private vehicles of the people have been destroyed and set on fire. The mobs have not even spared the police vehicles. The police cars were vandalized by the mobs. In Gurugram’s Badshahpur, the shops of the people were set ablaze. The local meat shops at Basai Road in Gurugram were vandalized by the mob. In Nuh district of Gurugram, the buses, private cars and police vehicles were vandalized and set on fire.
