This simulator training for Saturation Diving Supervisors has been designed to give IMCA Trainee BELL Diving Supervisors hands-on experience of operating a realistic dive panel while conducting a real diving operation. It has been proven to be very useful for trainees to gain their panel hours and is an excellent training tool for emergency drills training. Feedback from Sean McGree, "I was short of 56 hours of trainee bell supervisor time of the required 350 panel hours in order to sit for my IMCA supervisors exam. Obtaining these last few hours was difficult due to the industry downturn. Now that the work has picked up, it made more financial sense for me to accept saturation diving roles instead of deck positions, and pay for the final few hours on the simulator at KBAT. The simulator hours count for double the equivalent offshore hours, so I've completed 28 hours over a 4.5 day period. The simulator is an excellent training aid allowing supervisors to experience emergency situations and scenarios that you hope to never experience offshore. I found the training and experience invaluable."
