Perhaps you've heard about the Atari Jaguar-based arcade board called CoJag. As a part of the 30 years of Atari Jaguar, let's take a look at the one I have one in my collection. If you haven't heard of this, it's the hardware that powered the popular Area 51 and Maximum Force arcade games - but a few other titles were in development for it before Atari Games went on to more powerful platforms. #arcade #atari #atarijaguar If anyone lives in Utah, visit my arcade @ArcadeGalacticSaltLakeCity at the Valley Fair Mall In West Valley City. What's really interesting to me about the CoJag, as I mention in the video, is that its spec is pretty much what Atari was originally considering to do for the Jaguar home release (with a 68EC020 and 4MB of RAM) before getting cold feet on that and cutting it down to save a few bucks. Perhaps that was one of the terrible decisions that sealed the Jag's fate, although the bugs present in the TOM chip still would have been present. Either way, since this arcade board does exist, we can see what that hardware would've been like to some degree, essentially a "Jaguar 1.5" that bridges the gap between the home machine and the never released Jaguar 2 that I recently discussed.
