Trip lodging and tours were booked through Xanterra and went perfectly with tons of wildlife. The weather turned out great since there was little snow this season until we showed up. Delta cancelled our flights due to a deep freeze in Atlanta so we had to rebook 2 weeks later without issue thankfully (hotel price differences had to be paid rest was unchanged price). Rough costs: Bus from Bozeman to Mammoth and return trip to airport ~$220/person Snowcoach from Mammoth to Old Faithful and return trip to Mammoth ~ $350/person Steam, Stars, Soundscapes night tour ~$85/person Firehole snowcoach tour ~$105/person Snowshoe tour ~$33/person (shoe rentals $15.50/person if you don't have your own) Hotels depend on day/season, but ~$400/night Mammoth and $250/night Old Faithful Snow Lodge. I have no affiliation with Xanterra and had to pay retail maybe you are lucky if you can get rooms cheaper than that...very pricey but it is what it is. Day 1 0:11 - Tour bus pickup at the Best Western GranTree Inn in Bozeman, Montana 1:16 - Elk by side of road on the bus ride...there were tons of them outside the park. 1:17 - Last stop at Roosevelt Arch right before entering the north entrance of the park. 1:33 - Arrival at Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel 1:49 - Walk around Mammoth Hot Springs boardwalk 6:44 - Inside hotel and room tour 7:44 - Mammoth Dining Room for dinner Day 2 8:34 - Snowcoach pickup at Mammoth hotel to go to Old Faithful Snow Lodge 9:37 - Snowcoach front seat...total passenger capacity is 13 (12 in back 1 in front) 10:09 - Entrance to the road closed off to the public enroute to Old Faithful 10:30 - Bison on road...happened all the time 11:27 - First stop for restroom at Norris Geyser 13:07 - Next stop Beryl Spring 13:43 - Caldera Rim 14:07 - Stop at Gibbon Falls with tons of bison in road when we left 14:31 - Bald eagle! 14:55 - Stop at Madison Junction 16:08 - Grand Prismatic Spring 17:29 - Biscuit Basin 18:12 - Old Faithful Snow Lodge arrival 18:27 - Old Faithful Visitor Center and geyser 19:57 - Old Faithful Snow Lodge gift shop and Geyser Grill 20:56 - Back at Old Faithful for eruption 23:36 - Old Faithful boardwalk walk and geyser viewing 30:33 - Morning Glory Pool at the end of the loop 31:19 - Bald eagle next to Riverside Geyser 32:48 - Daisy Geyser with eruption 34:26 - People getting way too close to bison... 35:51 - Cabin check-in and tour 36:35 - Black Obsidian restaurant for dinner 37:45 - Steam, Stars, and Soundscapes tour 38:00 - Everything basically too dark to videotape well...you could see every star in the sky Day 3 39:58 - Lots of snow overnight...start of Firehole tour 41:32 - Grand Prismatic a little closer than day before 42:49 - Fountain Paint Pots 44:20 - Fox sighting 45:02 - Snow-covered bison in the road...best photos were from this 45:56 - Black Sand Basin 47:05 - Back at Old Faithful for a snow-covered eruption 50:18 - Geyser Grill. It's empty during eruption, but fills up right away after eruption 50:37 - Ski shop for start of snowshoeing 51:29 - Firehole river 52:33 - Some of the oldest trees in the park that have avoided fires over the years 52:50 - Going back to the lodge in high winds and closed snow-covered parking lot that is usually full during summer...looked abandoned by comparison. Day 4 (the best day) 54:07 - Checkout and starting snowcoach ride back to Mammoth. They offer bag pickup from your cabin when you checkout...no need to drag it through snow, but it will get covered in snow on the snowmobile if it's snowing at the time. 54:43 - Last view of the visitor center in the snow :( 54:49 - Start of lots of wildlife spotting with the usual snow-covered bison first 54:56 - Back at Fountain Paint Pots with better sound recordings 57:06 - Jet Geyser...no luck with Fountain Geyser erupting 57:30 - Absolute unit of an offroad tour bus...non-Xanterra day-trip only tour bus 57:51 - Stop again at Madison Junction for a break 58:28 - Bald eagle and snowshoe hare! 59:42 - Another eagle! I thought it was a golden eagle, but driver said juvenile bald. 60:08 - Mated pair of bald eagles! The non-Xanterra tour bus drove right by and didn't respond to our driver trying to flag them down...our guides were all excellent. 61:30 - Wolves in a snowstorm! The last wildlife we saw before getting back to Mammoth on the public roads. No footage was cut...this is everything I could get. 63:48 - Lone coyote at Mammoth Hot Springs 64:23 - Back at Mammoth Hot Springs hotel 64:59 - General Store 65:36 - Mammoth Hot Springs Visitor Center 67:26 - Last dinner Day 5 67:47 - Map Room waiting area for bus to airport 68:03 - Elk on the way to airport and the last animals we saw in the park (eagle was outside the park again near Livingston).
