Top Hunter: Roddy & Cathy (1994) by SNK is a game focusing on the adventures of bounty hunters who salivate at the thought of the nation behind the commanders of a large group of pirates infamously known as the Klaptons. During our hunt, they take control of four planets very different from each other, which we must reclaim from their clutches. Top Hunter is mainly a platform game using a handful of gimmicks. Here we can take control of various vehicles like Mechs or flying boards, our arms extend to surprising distances serving both as weapons and a means of locomotion replacing the grappling hook . But the main theme the game focuses on is changing the plane we are on at any time. We jump between the two available planes, which may appeal to you, as it undoubtedly enriches the gameplay with some terrain traps that can be avoided only by crossing the other plane, or simply as a form of avoiding various types of projectiles or other threats heading our way. The graphics are nice and well animated, but the backgrounds are the best. They are impressive and undoubtedly stand out from the whole game. Sound effects are also impressive, but when it comes to the music itself, at the end of the game we felt as if there was practically no music at all. It was so indistinct that we didn't pay any attention to it at all :P Gameplay-wise, as I wrote above, you may like it ............. but the game is not our style and we were honestly bored to death. This can be noticed during our gameplay, for example, when we fight a boss on a volcanic planet. I remember as if through a fog how my consciousness reset every few seconds during this battle. Why did the game bore us? It's hard to say. Maybe we were tired, or intoxicated with too much of our favorite beverage. Something just didn't click as needed and the game, instead of a pleasant experience, was a mercilessly prolonged agony. Personally, I admit that the game is not bad, and I ask you not to be guided by our opinion, which was undoubtedly influenced by many external factors, if you know what I mean :D Admittedly, we can not recommend the game at this point, but we also can not condemn it. So simply in this case the choice is yours. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Music by Karl Casey @ White Bat Audio"
