This trip wasn’t planned — and that’s what made it special. Together with one of my best friends, we road-tripped through the southwest of the Dominican Republic with no reservations, no set route, and no idea where we’d sleep next. In Part 1, the journey takes us through La Caobita, Barahona, Enriquillo, Azua, Palmar de Ocoa, and all the way to Playa de las Águilas — stopping wherever we wanted, eating whatever we found, and discovering places that don’t always make the guidebooks.
