Welcome everyone, to the brand new series on tactics and combinations that we are starting off with today. In this series we are going to train a skill that wins games, that is spotting, calculating, and executing tactical combinations. Being alert to the existence and possible executions of tactical combinations is perhaps the most important skill in chess, since no amount of positional understanding will win you games if you are tactically not astute or fall prey to a combination conjured up by the opponent. So we shall learn the art of identifying, executing and also defending against tactics and combinations in this series. I offer chess coaching services!
