*As featured on BET Jams* Was 96' to 99' the golden age of hip hop? Tell us what you think of this era of hip hop in the comments below! Facebook: http://bit.ly/iLLFB Twitter: http://bit.ly/iLLTwitter YouTube: http://bit.ly/iLLYTube http://www.illphonics.net Taken from the iLLPHONiCS studio album "Gone With The Trends". "Genre-bending hip-hop band" - DJBooth With the buzz of Netflix's "The Get Down", and the massive residual popularity of "Straight Outta Compton", the group have perfectly timed the release of the video which has a strong G-funk feel to it and lyrically "...looks back on those pivotal years in rap." - Purevolume. By showing a day in the life of an adolescent Fallout Morris (emcee), during his formative years when hip hop infiltrated and influenced all aspects of his development, this beautifully shot music video captures an innocence the viewer will immediately identify with. In addition, the usage of cleverly placed key lyrics throughout the video, help to emphasize the songs message and provide a deeper visual that will reveal itself through multiple views. Directed by Brock Russell, the video was shot amongst the graffiti-covered, abandoned buildings of the North Riverfront in downtown Saint Louis. The recording features Lena Charlie on vocals and Lamar Harris on horns (not featured in the video). Was this era "hip-hop’s last golden age”? We think so, and believe this special visual experience will help take you "back in the day".
