Civil 20 India 2023 Working Group on Gender Equality and Disability

The Gender Equality and Disability (GED) Working Group is dedicated to thoroughly examining and tackling the various aspects of inequality and disadvantage faced by individuals of different genders and those with physical or mental disabilities, regardless of gender. In doing so, the GED Working Group seeks to strengthen the principle of equality and sustainable development by recognizing that mutual respect, compassion, and empathy must be at the heart of global governance. Through this perspective, the GED Working Group will focus on topics such as access to education, healthcare, financial resources, environmental resources, decent work, infrastructure, and decision-making. Additionally, the group will address systemic problems such as discrimination based on gender or disability, gender-based violence, underrepresentation, and economic inequality.
