An Unexpected Obstacle Hiking Thru The Barracks (near Zion)

Part 2 of my three-day backpacking trip through The Barracks near Zion National Park October 2024. Hiking with my long-time friends, this episode picks up in the Upper Barracks after we descended Meadow Creek and Mineral Gulch. The narrows got better and better as we moved down canyon. Late in the day we once again met an unexpected obstacle which slowed our progress. Near the waterfall the channel has changed in recent years and now one must swim or do another scramble bypass. Once past all the hard stuff we enjoyed the lower canyon before making the slog of a climb up and out and into Zion to end our hike.
