#tawachicken #easymealideas Servings 3-4 Ingredients Marinade 1 1/2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breast cut in big chunks (about 2 small chicken breasts) 1 1/2 tsp ginger paste 1 tbsp garlic paste 1/3 cup full fat yogurt 2 tsp ground corriander 1/2 tsp ground cumin 1/2 tsp red pepper powder 1/8 tsp turmeric powder 1 1/4 tsp salt (adjust to taste) 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes 1 tbsp lemon juice 1/8 tsp dried yellow or red food color Gravy 1/3 cup avocado or canola oil 1/2 cup chopped yellow onion (1 small) 1/2 tsp whole cumin seeds 1/2 cup chopped tomato (1 small) 1 tbsp lemon juice 1/2 tsp garam masala powder 1/2 tsp freshly crushed black pepper 2 -3 chillis, cut in big pieces (adjust to taste) 1 lemon, sliced for garnish 2 tbsp fresh cilantro, chopped for garnish 2 tbsp ginger sliced, optional for garnish 1 small charcoal lit for smoky flavor + 1 tbsp oil Directions In a bowl, mix chicken with all the marinade ingredients. Cover and refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight. In a pan, heat oil on medium high heat. Sautee onions for 4-5 min until light brown. Add in cumin seeds, tomatoes, and lemon juice. Cover and lower the heat for 5 min for tomatoes to cook. Uncover and add in marinated chicken. Sautee on medium high heat for 5 min, cover and cook for 5-10 min until chicken is cooked and gravy has dried a little. On a side stove, light a coal and let burn for 5-10 min. Uncover, add in garam masala and black pepper. Add in cut green chillies and lemon slices. In the middle create a pocket, put in foil and add in the lit charcoal. Put 1 tbsp oil on top of the coal and cover instantly. Turn off the heat and let sit for 10 min for the smoke to get in the chicken. Uncover and discard the foil with charcoal. Garnish with cilantro and sliced ginger. Serve with roti or naan. #easymeals #spicychickenrecipe
