NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department are inclusive of 3 Board Certified physiatrists, 13 physical therapists, 3 physical therapy assistants, 12 occupational therapists, and 4 speech pathology therapists. The hospital’s diverse population and Trauma Level 1 ranking provide Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physicians with the opportunity to treat a vast range of illnesses and disorders, including but not limited to stroke, amputation, multi-trauma, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, and many more. Our 23-bed acute inpatient unit is staffed 24 hours per day and has access to acute care consult physicians to assure that all aspects of patient care are addressed. Our outpatient services begin with an extensive examination by 1 of our physiatrists before the patient being prescribed a custom prescription for further diagnostic workup, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. Outpatient services include EMG/NCV clinic, peripheral joint injection with ultrasound guidance, and joint replacement clinic. Also, wheelchair clinic and orthotics/prosthetics clinics are conducted with the patient assessed with the clinician and physiatrist present.
