During our trip to Togo, the Southside Blooms team visited the Wood Home — a former slave trading post where enslaved Africans were once kept hidden in underground dungeons. After learning about the painful history of the space, our youth created a meaningful floral arrangement to honor the lives, suffering, and resilience of those who were forced to endure it. This piece was placed as an offering of remembrance — a statement that their stories are no longer hidden. At Southside Blooms, flowers are more than arrangements. They are symbols of acknowledgment, healing, and legacy. Subscribe to follow the journey of Roots to Blooms and youth leadership through global learning.
