Persistent and chronic inflammation and fibrosis have been associated with the onset and progression of several cancers. Although promising progress has been made in the treatment of these disorders, challenges such as systemic drug toxicity and limited efficacy remain. Nanoparticle-based drug delivery formulations offer a promising solution by enabling targeted delivery of anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer therapies to the disease site. This webinar will explore current challenges in the treatment of fibrosis and inflammation, and how nanotechnology may be utilized to overcome some of these barriers and deliver therapies effectively to inflamed and fibrotic tissues. We will also discuss our recent efforts in developing drug-containing nanoparticles with specialized surface modifications that can enhance delivery to inflamed and fibrotic tissues particularly in the lungs and liver, for improved therapeutic outcomes.
