MPN Hero Dr. Marina Kremyanskaya: Continuing a Caring Tradition

MPN Hero Marina Kremyanskaya became intrigued by myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs) and blood cancers during her oncology rotations in medical school. But she was inspired to become a doctor when―time after time―she heard people tell her physician grandfather how grateful they were for his medical services. Both of Dr. Kremyanskaya’s grandparents were physicians in Belarus, then part of the former Soviet Union. Today, Dr. Kremyanskaya carries on her family’s tradition of exceptional patient care. She approaches the challenges of MPNs from three angles: teaching oncology to future physicians at Mount Sinai Hospital, taking care of patients with kindness and respect, and focusing on clinical research that could one day have a positive impact on patients living with MPNs. Her outstanding efforts on behalf of her patients make Dr. Kremyanskaya an MPN Hero to the entire MPN community.
