Billy Leon Kearse was executed by lethal injection on March 3, 2026, at Florida State Prison. He spent more than 35 years on death row for the 1991 murder of Fort Pierce police Sergeant Danny Parrish during a routine traffic stop. He was 53 years old. On January 18, 1991, Sergeant Danny Parrish pulled over an 18-year-old driving the wrong way on a one-way street. After 18 minutes of patiently running fake names through dispatch, Parrish attempted to make the arrest. A struggle broke out, and Billy Kearse grabbed the officer's 9mm Sig Sauer and fired 13 rounds. Danny's last words, according to Kearse's own statement to detectives, were "C'mon man, don't do it, don't do it." In this video, we cover the full story of Billy Leon Kearse and Sergeant Danny Parrish: the crime, the investigation, 35 years of appeals, and Billy’s final moments, including his final meal and final words.
