Hey friends! So I am starting a new series called "Mini Sessions @ Home", where I will be sharing one performance at a time of (mostly) original songs. I have been writing songs for a while and releasing my own music, but I wanted to create a space to share a stripped down performance. A lot of these are songs that have been released and all played live either at gigs or on Twitch and other social media platforms as well. The first song of the series is "Waves", this is the song that started it all. This was the first original song I ever felt comfortable playing live, I had written other songs before, but I was always really shy about sharing those anywhere. I believe the official "debut" of this song was back in 2021, in the fall, and just a few months later I released this as a single and then as part of my first EP the following year. It is crazy to me sometimes that time has passed so fast, and that it has been almost 4 years since I first played it live. I remember the nerves and just thinking "I can get through this". Sharing original music is like an extra layer of vulnerability that you need to peel off. Graphic, I know, but that is what it feels like, specially if it is the first time you're ever doing it. Needless to say, once you've done it, it eventually becomes a lot easier. Maybe some day I will talk more about that feeling and that experience, because I still remember it like it was yesterday.
