SABANG - Indonesia's MOST NORTHERN ISLAND (Kilometer Nol Weh Island)

In todays episode I finally reach Sabang, Weh Island in the province of Aceh. Is Sabang really the most North Island in Indonesia? On my KTM 390 (Turangga) we set off from Banda Aceh, taking the ferry from Ulee Lheue to Balohan port. With my family visiting from Denmark, we go to Sabang City to see the local market for the Eid Al-Adha celebration. Here we try Acehnese coffee at Acirasa cafe, learn about the Acehnese traditions and experience the Indonesian hospitality, as we are invited to celebrate the Eid Al-Adha with a local Acehnese family. On the island paradise, we first stay at at place called Casa Nemo resort. Here the owner Balqis arranges a Acehnese song and dance performance for us, that brings out some unexpected emotions. We then try out Hawks Nest Resort from where we hire a boat to Rupiah Island and Iboih Beach for snorkelling and seeing Dolphins. We then finish our Sabang trip at the Kilometer (nol) zero monument, where we can see Rondo, the most Northern Island in Indonesia. The perfect ending of my Sumatra adventure and the official beginning of my Sabang to Merauke adventure.
