Vasquez Rocks ? Star Trek Locations! Dracula, Flintstones and more

Vasquez Rocks in Aqua Dulce may be one of the most filmed locations in the world! The original Star Trek series and all new versions of the show have been shot here. Dracula, Werewolf of London, The Flintstones, Blazing Saddles, Kung Fu and many more used this unique geological formation to represent countries and planets. For film location fans this is the Holy Grail of locations going back to the 30's and still being used regularly today! Vasquez Rocks Natural Area and Nature Center is part of the Los Angeles Parks & Recreation Dept. We talk to Regional Park Superintendent Sarah Brewer about the history of the area. In addition to it's Hollywood history Sarah shared how important the connection is to the Tataviam Tribe of Native Americans. The great Nature Center has exhibits of this history and other parts of the story as well it's namesake outlaw Tiburcio Vasquez. This area was one of the many hideouts of this bandido active in the area from 1854 to 1874.
