Horus Heresy Legions Ranked gameplay featuring Merir Astelan of the Defenders of Caliban. Astelan is a very interesting warlord. Unlike any other DoC warlord he possesses the ability to spawn in Caliban Jaegers directly onto the board, but only if the board is empty. If it isn't, he can destroy a friendly troop to deal some damage - which is precisely the main focus of this deck, taking advantage of destroying your own troops. Overall Astelan sadly has become worse and worse due to powercreep, which leads us to some very sad decisions in deckbuilding (which I won't spoiler here), and ultimately makes Astelan the arguably worst Defenders of Caliban warlord in the game right now. Obviously that doesn't mean he is a bad warlord overall, he is just comparatively bad when you could be using someone like Zahariel, Vassago or even Cypher to do a similar thing but generally better.
