Tarange is a short film set against the aftermath of the India–Pakistan Partition, exploring what people truly lose during wars. When borders are drawn, homes are left behind — but so are food, habits, language, and music. The film follows a man who migrates from Pakistan to India during the war. Haunted by memories of violence, he finds peace only in the music he once listened to on the radio. But in his new land, his radio no longer catches those familiar waves — those tarange. Driven by longing, he travels to border areas, searching for signals that carry the voices of his favourite singers — fragments of a life he was forced to abandon. Music becomes his refuge. Radio waves become his bridge. Tarange is not just about Partition — it is about migration, trauma, nostalgia, and how art survives even when borders divide people.
