Mambuloc Creek, Barangay 2, Bacolod City December 12, 2025 Continuing the government’s effort to improve urban disaster preparedness and promote a cleaner, more resilient environment, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. observes the ongoing implementation of Oplan Kontra Baha: Bacolod City Waterways Clearing and Cleaning Operations at Mambuloc Creek in Barangay 2, Bacolod City on December 12, 2025. Launched on 5 December 2025, this initiative is led by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Philippine National Police (PNP) and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), with active support from private sector partners. The operations involve dredging, declogging, clearing and maintaining Bacolod City’s priority waterways. It covers 30,785.69 cubic meters of drainage systems and nine (9) rivers and creeks with a total volume of 2,175,323.11 cubic meters. These major waterways include Banago Creek, Mandalagan River, Mambuloc Creek, Maupay Creek, Lupit River, Magsungay River, Tangub Creek, Pahanocoy Creek and the Sum-ag River, stretching over 169,447 meters throughout Bacolod City's barangays.
