Elbit Systems has launched the Sabrah light tank ordered by the Philippine Army

Israeli defense company, Elbit Systems, has unveiled its Sabrah 105 light tank which was ordered by the Armed Forces of the Philippines. As is known, in May 2022, Elbit Systems won the Philippine Army Light Tank Acquisition Project. In addition to the 18 Sabrah tanks , Elbit Systems will also supply 10 Pandur ll 6X6 armored cannons. he Sabrah light tank concept was first introduced to the public at the Eurosatory international defense exhibition held in Paris, France in June 2022. The Sabrah was developed based on the ASCOD AFV ( Armored Fighting Vehicle ) platform produced by General Dynamics European Land Systems (GDELS). This 30-tonne tank provides the optimal combination of firepower and maneuverability. The Sabrah is equipped with a capable armor protection system, providing ballistic protection up to STANAG 4569 Level 4 of the NATO standard. The tank can be integrated with active protection systems, including Elbit Systems' Torch-XTM battle management system. Additionally, the tank is fitted with an electro-optical (EO) sight, as well as a fire control system. Both the light tank and armored canon versions ordered by the Philippine Army are equipped with a manned turret armed with a 105 mm caliber gun.
