Annual Picnic 2023 at the Wiscasset, Waterville, & Farmington Railway Museum - August 12 & 13, 2023

Our Annual Picnic events have always been one of our crown jewel events of the year, a time to gather and celebrate the achievements made during the year, typically with some special happenings occurring during the event. Years past have seen photo events, multiple steam locomotives in operation, and even some exclusive looks at soon to be opened trackage! For this year, our Alna Center pavilion was host to the Association of 16mm Modelers, featuring miniature live steam locomotives, a collection of them being based on our famed locomotive No. 9, as well as other Maine 2 foot gauge locomotives. While not shown in this video, we were also host to the Great Falls Model Railroad Club back in Sheepscot, as well as the Lincoln County Amateur Radio Club. Demonstrations by the radio club included vintage Morse Code operators with vintage sounders, 1920’s broadcast band radios, and even allowed visitors to send their friends radiograms!
