#afilminthreeminutes #cinema #movietribute The mood for today is cinema. I wanted to celebrate the first 50 entries to my little channel, only 17 more to go until the next 50! What's striking to me whilst editing shots from all of these wonderful films is how integral the theme of pain is to each one; pain for a lost loved one, pain from fear, pain from choice, etc. Pain, it seems to me, is an essential ingredient to telling any story, and the pain that each of these 50 stories share, and how their characters are either destroyed by it or overcome it, is the story that we can relate to in our own lives and in our own way. To all of you who have shared your kind words, your thoughts, and your critiques of my videos over the years as I've slowly built this small collection, I wanted to say thank you. I am in your debt. Just as much as I am in the debt of the filmmakers, storytellers, and artists who made these and so many other great stories I love, and the ones I've yet to see!
