There are many interpretations with vast scripts on every aspect of one’s life. However, I will try & simplify to the basic principles. You can break them down to 7 core beliefs: 1. Karma results in good afterlife. 4. Moksha, which is the liberation from the cycle of life & death & suffering. 5. Vedas , 4 sacred books of knowledge with verses in Sanskrit. 6. Cyclical of time. Its 5 x longer than the Bible & written in poetic verses. 5. Bhagwad Gita: these verses are uttered on a battlefield, where Lord Krishna reveals himself as a re-incarnation of Lord Vishnu & urges good to fight over evil. This is our Karma. In Hinduism, there are 4 goals a person should aim for to have a good life. 1. Dharma: ethics & duties 2. Artha: true prosperity 3. Kama: pleasure of the body & mind 4. Moksha: release of the cycle of life & death Hinduism should also avoid 6 temptations in order to attain Moksha: Bad Kama: lust & materialism Krodha: anger Lobha: greed Moha: attachment to physical goods, people & power Mada: pride Matsarya: jealousy Hindus believe in one God, Parmatama, which has 3 helpers: • Lord Vishnu • Lord Shiv • Lord Brahma But the universal belief is when there is imbalance in the world, or Adharma, god re-incarnates & transcends to earth in a human form to get rid of evil.
