Wongwian Yai in Thonburi is an overlooked part of Bangkok across the river, a fantastic area where you are almost in another era. Wongwian Yai has everything for everyone, local markets, shops, street food, trains that go to the famous railway market, not many foreigners and no shopping malls or cinemas. In the past there was a mall which is now closed, as are the old cinemas.
