Step-by-step guide on how to replace / remove blower motor resistor on Volkswagen VW Tiguan SUV. Removing the blower motor resistor is very easy and you don't need any tools whatsoever ( 2007 | 2008 | 2009 | 2010 | 2011 | 2012 | 2013 | 2014 | 2015 | SE | TRENDLINE | COMFORTLINE | HIGHLINE | 4MOTION | 2.0 ). Most common symptom of a faulty blower motor resistor is that blower / heater works only on one speed setting, usually the highest speed setting. It is a good idea to test the wires towards the blower motor to make sure the blower motor resistor is actually faulty, although in most of the cases it will be. To remove the old blower motor resistor first you will want to remove the cover under the glove box. It is held by two plastic trim screws. Once cover is removed, pull the connector out of the blower motor resistor by pushing onto two black clips and then slide the blower motor resistor out. Thanks for watching.
