The R36Max is another R36S spinoff that comes with a 4”, 720 x 720 resolution. It’s also built with an Rk3326 cpu like its predecessor but it comes loaded with EmuELEC version 4.7. The device itself is very capable and it has the same limitations that you get on an R36S. You can play systems up to PS1 without any issues but it will also play several games from N64, Dreamcast, and PSP with some minor glitches. The device came loaded with a generic 64gb Micro SD card that holds 18,000+ games but a lot of those games are Japanese and Brazilian versions. It has a 4000 mah battery that will last you for hours. My likes of the device: 1. Its larger square screen which is great for playing PS1, SNES, Genesis, Gameboy and Gameboy Color games. 2. I find the ergonomic bubbles under the device very comfortable to use. 3. The shape and build that gives a premium build. 4. The ABXY buttons are not loud when you press them. 5. The joysticks are very smooth and comfortable when you use them. My dislikes of the device: 1. Lack of WiFi in the unit and lack of support for support for my wireless WiFi dongle. 2. Don’t like the basketball shape speaker hole, soccer ball design on function button and heart shape on the select and start buttons. 3. D-Pad feels smooth but gets stuck during gameplay affecting movement and control. 4. R2 and L2 are really stiff so you have to press really hard to get them to react. 5. I’m not fond of the EmuELEC operating system so I installed ArkOS which will come on another video.
