Support my work   / pawelspychalski   Second video on the topic    • FrSky ACCESS vs FrSky R9 radio system...   FrSky tries to push the new ACCESS protocol and the naming of their products. Both 2.4GHz series like R-XSR, R-X4R but also on the R9 900MHz system. In the case of the 2.4GHz series this is fine. New hardware is required since ACCST hardware can not run all functions of ACCESS. Both receivers and transmitters require more powerful radio chipset and MCU. In the case of R9 it's not that obvious! ACCESS can be flashed on existing receivers, only TX module and the radio itself have to be upgraded. If you have R9M, forget about ACCESS. You will need R9M2019 and latest radios: X10S Express, X9D+ 2019, X-Lite Pro and so on. No ACCESS on good old Q X7 or older Taranis. And I repeat: those are the same RF chipsets and MCU on receivers.
