"For the untrained, it's even more dangerous," he said. "If you can, don't even get in your car — if you know a storm is coming, just stay at home, if you're at the shops, stay at the shops, but don't go on the road if you don't have to." In the past three weeks, there's been four flood-related deaths in Queensland, including two in recent days in Brisbane. One woman's car was swept from a car park in the northern suburb of Aspley A 75-year-old woman died after her car was swept into treacherous waters in Pullenvale in the city's outer west. Station officer Leis is one of Queensland's firefighters specially trained to enter the water and is a senior swiftwater instructor. He said he had attended flooding emergencies all along the east coast, from Cairns to recent flood events in New South Wales.
