Exterior - various car with Iraqi flag STORYLINE: China and Iraq reaffirmed their friendly ties on Wednesday during a visit by Baghdad's foreign minister, who is looking for support amid tensions with Washington. At the beginning of talks with Naji Sabri, Chinese Vice Premier Qian Qichen said relations between the countries were "extremely friendly". In reply, Sabri said that "ties between our people, leaders and governments are consistently improving". Reporters were barred from the rest of their meeting. Beijing is traditionally friendly with Iraq but has has urged Baghdad to allow UN arms inspectors to return. Sabri is on a mission to firm up support from Iraq's small pool of allies amid warnings by US leaders that Iraqi President Saddam Hussein is a menace who should be removed.
