When you attend an event as spectacular as the 2020 Amelia Island Concours, it is very hard to pick just 5 cars to put in your best video - but we think we've done it! A criteria we followed was to not include a car that we have already highlighted in one of our other videos from the event; hence no Jaguar XJR-15 - which was in our previous video. In this video, we first look at the Qvale Mangusta ( which started out life as the De Tomaso Bigua concept car, which became the De Tomaso Mangusta production car - but due to financial difficulties, the project was than taken over by Kjell Qvale - hence the name change ). Only 282 examples were made between 1999 and 2002. The second car in the video is the ultra rare Lamborghini Diablo SE30 Jota. For Lamborghini's 30th anniversary, the supercar maker offered the SE30 version of the Diablo. Only 150 examples were made, with just a handful receiving the Jota treatment that gave it more power, and the extra air scoop. Easily one of the most beautiful cars ever made. Car number 3 in the video is the Bugatti EB110 GT - also known as the Italian Bugatti. This car was the result of Romano Artioli acquiring the rights to the Bugatti name in the late 1980's, and then set about to create the most technically advanced car of its time! Approximately 139 examples of the EB110 were made, among which 84 were the GT spec. At this year's Amelia Island event, 2 examples of the EB110 GT's were present - how cool is that!!! The 4th car in the video is the Jaguar XJ220. It was once the fastest production car in the world, recording a top speed of 217 mph (without catalytic converters) and 212 mph (with the cats installed). Like the Bugatti EB110, the XJ220 came out during the height of the recession in the early 1990's, and hence the project failed to fulfill its potential. Only 282 cars were completed (target was 350), and the cars had initially depreciated to one-fourth their initial asking price. Now, the car is finally getting the respect it deserves, and prices are well above the $500,000 mark. The last car in the video is the rarest of them all, the Alfa Romeo TZ3 Stradale by Zagato. This car was never an official Alfa Romeo project, but instead was initiated by the Italian coachbuilt design house Zagato. Zagato wanted to build a car to pay homage to the Giulia TZ from the 1960's, and rather than choosing an Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, or Maserati platform to create this masterpiece, they built this car on top of a 2010 Dodge Viper ACR platform. Since the TZ3 was built in 2011, their VIN# shows as a 2011 model. Only 9 examples of the TZ3 Stradale were ever made, 3 of which live in America, and two of those three were at this event - that WILD!!! If you love special cars, then you'll love the TZ3 and all the other cars in this video. #QvaleMangusta #LamborghiniDiablo #BugattiEB110 #JaguarXJ220 #ZagatoTZ3 Hope you enjoyed the video, please SUBSCRIBE to our channel, and also find us on Facebook and Instagram.
