46233 'Duchess of Sutherland' | 'The Cathedrals Express' | 05.04.2017

I was not planning on filming this run, due to it's ridiculous timings - but as I usually do, I popped out last minute to grab the PRCLT's flagship; ex LMS Coronation Class no. 46233 'Duchess of Sutherland', which was in charge of 'The Cathedrals Express' from Barrow Hill/Chesterfield to London Kings Cross, on the evening of the 5th April, 2017. The outward journey, vice versa to the return, was headed under diesel power. The 'Duchess' is firstly seen powering hard through St Neots station at just-gone 10:15pm from two advantages, with the first shot being captured by my father from Platform 2, and then my main perspective from Platform 4. Secondly, and equally a bonus (only because I had gone out to take photos as I usually do with Engine+Van moves), the 4-6-2 cruises through Wolverton, Buckinghamshire, on a positioning run from Southall to Crewe Heritage Centre, the next day (06/04). 46233 was due to position to Carnforth WCRC, but had failed at Crewe, and tomorrow is due to return to Butterley to most likely start repairs.
