I first heard this back in high school, probably off the Trending page (throwback, right? all this newfangled Explore business). It was my first real exposure to singer-songwriter music, and I was stunned at just how evocative a voice and piano could be. I'm pretty sure that this song was a key part of opening my eyes during my teenage years to the possibilities of expression and harmony and phrasing, and I treasure it quite a lot!! Composer: Rebecca Sugar - Original vocalist: Deedee Magno Hall Steven Universe (2013-2019) - "It's Over, Isn't It" (2016 S3E8) Thanks very much to "Queen of the Walls" for accompanying me on the piano!!! _______________________________________________________ There are plenty of transcriptions of this song for voice / solo instrument and piano on MuseScore, but I took the time to go in and get the harmony in the piano as accurate as possible, especially for the first verse. The original recording has such a tantalizing combination of momentum and spacing which I felt was important to capture, and which was rather warped by the transcriptions I could find. Otherwise, transcribing was quick given there's only three instruments at play. I realized only after transcribing that I could've listened to the karaoke version on YouTube instead of the official track with voice, but all's well that ends well! ________________________________________________________ Thanks for watching and reading this far.
