This is a short clip of an interview with veteran Worker's Comp Senior Claims Adjuster, Ms. Roberta Serena Mike. BIO: Roberta is a senior field claim adjuster in workers' compensation. She began her career forty-two years ago at Travelers Insurance Company in New York. She worked for Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company in New York and Georgia, Ryder Claim Services, and Zurich North America. She has also worked in risk management for DS Waters of America and Muller Water Products. Roberta served as president for Atlanta Association of Insurance Professional (AAIP) which is a local chapter of the National African American Insurance Association. She also served as President of the Atlanta Claims Association. She is a recipient of 2017 Recipient Claims Person of the year and Pioneer’s award of 2018. In 2021, Sylvia became a Licensed Independent Claims Adjuster in over 27 States where she is charged with evaluating insurance claims to determine the insurer's liability under an owner's policy In addition, she supports her husband in the family’s catering business. She has co-authored several published books. Most recently, the anthology “Unlock the ICON Within.” Her chapter title is: “Full Circle”. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband Matroy Sr., of 32+ years; 5 adult children and 5 grandchildren; in church where they hold leadership positions; with friends and motorcycle riding.
