This is really a top unit with the best DAC ICs ever made: Burr-Brown PCM-1702. Four of them. It has additional DAC chips B-B 7800 which also must be doing something. What, I have no idea and would welcome a Service Manual for this unit. It also has Pacific Microsonics PMD-100 filter. The laser mechanism is Philips Pro VAU-1252 / 10 (from memory). it has digital inputs (Toslink and SPDIF) and AES/EBU and SPDIF outputs. There are at least 19 voltage regulators and the unit is full of Nichicon electrolytic capacitors. Two issues: The tray issue is reasonably easy to fix once you know what you are doing. To replace the drive belt, remove the whole mech (4 screws) and then the tray (4 more screws). Then punch out the pivot rod from the left side and replace the belt. If anyone out there knows what Code 990E means, please let me know. This is what greets me when I first turn it on.
