I don't have a strictly controlled humidity and air flow curing barn like the Cubans. I sure as hell am not going to oven dry or any other quick dry tobacco like the cancer making tobacco giants. Controlled fermentation with enzymatic/bacterial decomposition of plant sugar makes a less carcinogenic tobacco. (I'll talk about that later sometime perhaps) Take away the 200 secret "Proprietary" ingredients that might be in your commercial tobacco and it gets to be even safer still. Take away the insecticides and Round-Up and now we're talking better and better. Take away the cost that a typical tobacco user spends. Add the work and satisfaction of growing money trees. Add the pleasure of a few puffs. Subtract that horrible taste and feeling that you get when you smoke a commercial cigarette. It comes out a positive even with the work. If I need a SHTF high value trade-able product that I can grow well, this seems to foot the bill and might buy me a can of beans when it would take me a heck of a lot of garden beans to make a meal. Tobacco is and has always been money. I took me 4 years to figure out a way to work a season of 20-30 plants through the whole curing operation in a small space. I hope this might help others who are interested in a clean smoke and perhaps something you might trade for a bird gun someday.
