Many Christians believe the Eucharist is symbolic. But when you read John 6, the Last Supper, and St. Paul’s words carefully, that interpretation becomes very difficult to maintain. In this video, I examine the key passages that shape the Catholic understanding of the Eucharist and explain why a purely symbolic reading doesn’t align with the full biblical picture. This isn’t about attacking anyone or winning arguments. It’s about taking Scripture seriously and asking what Jesus actually meant and why that matters for how we approach Communion today. Scripture Passages Covered (Grouped) 1. The Bread of Life Discourse • John 6:35–69 2. The Last Supper in the Gospels • Matthew 26:26 • Mark 14:22–24 • Luke 22:19–20 3. The Eucharist in the Early Church • 1 Corinthians 11:23–30 Reference Passage • 1 Corinthians 10:16 00:00 – Why the Eucharist is such a dividing line 00:40 – John 6: The Bread of Life Discourse (John 6:35–69) 03:28 – The Last Supper in the Gospels (Matthew 26:26, Mark 14:22–24, Luke 22:19–20) 04:47 – The Early Church Takes This Seriously (1 Corinthians 11:23–30)
