The Snow Man by Wallace Stevens

Hey guys, this is a visual companion to one of my favorite poems! Okay so sometimes I just get randomly motivated. This is one example. I took a course on Wallace Steves in college and fell in love with this poem. The recent snow here in the Northeast got me started.. The main idea of the poem is viewing the world, or anything really, with an unspoiled, fresh point of view. It's often our preconceived notions about a time or place that shape how we think about them. After all, from nature's perspective, what's so different about a frozen wintry landscape and a warm tropical beach? The poem suggests that maybe only an actual "snow man" can ever really behold the wintry landscape without thinking of "any misery in the sound of the wind" and truly regard, be in that present moment for, "nothing that is not there and the nothing that is."
