1967 Chevy C10 FULL BUILD: Building the Copperhead Street Truck from the Frame Up

Trucks! and Stacey David take on the ambitious task of transforming a 1967 Chevy short bed pickup into the ultimate cruising machine: the legendary Project Copperhead. The highlight of this project was undoubtedly the introduction of Chevy’s groundbreaking 572 cubic inch crate engine, a powerhouse kicking out 620 horsepower and 650 ft-lbs of torque on pump gas, setting new standards for street-legal performance. This was the very first production engine, making Copperhead a one-of-a-kind project. Starting with just a sturdy cab and a bare frame, we meticulously rebuilt the front and rear suspensions, introducing a 3.5-inch drop at the front and a 4-inch drop at the rear, supported by a powerful Dana 60 rear axle for serious horsepower. Throughout, we kept the classic lines intact while infusing modern performance enhancements, resulting in a sleek, powerful truck with an unexpected punch under the hood.
