Known for his personal prolific musical output , Damu have managed to do the unthinkable in todays music business. Let his music do the talking for him. He doesn’t rely on social media antics or shameless self promotion to get people to listen to his music. The centerpiece to his setup is the MPC 2000 and SP1200. You can see him using both of these in this video here. He’s produced the vast majority of his instrumental albums with these machines and it doesn’t seem to be stopping. He’s probably one of the few producers that I’ve covered in this series that actually use the MPC 2000. Even though this machine is regarding as one of the worst MPCs, Artists like Damu and Kanye made great music using it. The next machine that Damu used is the MPC 3000. To be fair I could’ve put this on his centerpiece list which in my opinion is interchangeable. What haven’t been said about the MPC 3000. It’s a force to be reckon with and is one of the few early MPCs that had 8 out included on it straight out of the box. Damu The Fudgemunk is one of the bright spots in new hip hop producers.
