Bhutan Woman Raped in Pune: POCSO केस सॉल्व करने पहुंची थी Pune Police, Accidentally क्रैक किया NGO में हो रहे Rape कांड! A 27-year-old woman from Bhutan has alleged that she was sexually assaulted by seven men in Pune, including Shantanu Kukde, a former leader of Ajit Pawar’s Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). The woman has been living in Pune since 2020. According to police reports, Kukde and his associates have been arrested by the officials of Samarth Police Station. The other accused include Rishikesh Navale, Jalandar Badade, Umesh Shahane, Pratik Shinde, Advocate Vipin Bidkar, Sagar Rasge, Avinash Suryawanshi, and Muddasin Menon. Vctim had initially come to Bodh Gaya in 2020 for education and work opportunities. She later moved to Pune, where she came into contact with Rishikesh Navale, who introduced her to Kukde. Police say Kukde provided her with accommodation and financial support under the pretext of helping her studies but later exploited her trust and sexually assaulted her. Further allegations state that Kukde introduced the victim to his friends, who, under the guise of parties, repeatedly visited her home and took her to various locations, including Lonavala, Raigad, and Panshet, where the assaults took place. Among the accused, one is a DJ and another is a lawyer by profession. Kukde was already facing a separate sexual assault case involving two young women and was booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act. During the investigation of that case, the Bhutanese woman’s case came to light. Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr. Gill confirmed that Kukde is the prime accused in the current case. He allegedly used his NGO, Red Foundation, to offer shelter to the victim. Out of the nine total accused, seven have been arrested, and further investigation is ongoing. In the wake of these developments, the Maharashtra State Women’s Commission has taken suo motu cognizance. Chairperson Rupali Chakankar has written to the Pune Police Commissioner, citing media reports of exploitation and financial misconduct involving needy girls through NGOs operating in Pune’s Camp area. The commission has urged the Charity Commissioner to verify the registration and operations of the NGO involved. Chairperson Chakankar emphasized the need for a thorough investigation, stating that the safety and counseling of victims must be prioritized. She also highlighted the possibility of links to prostitution and has called for immediate, strict action against all those involved.
