Welcome! This is "everything is on fire but you can't die" world! CantWin is a File Code in Dark Star Edition that sets you to level 27, gives you all 128 badges, and the 5 unlockable stones immediately (all but Greed, Badge, and Rainbow). However, in return, it forces all encounters to be at least 4.5x difficulty, the equivalent of Super + Mega Curse. Equipping Curse badges does NOT stack with this multiplier, but if you equip Ultra + Mega Curse or all 3 Curses, you will do a fight on that respective difficulty instead of the innate 4.5x difficulty that CantWin forces. Nuclear Guy has 50 Base HP, 16 Base Attack, and 0 Defense. 9x Difficulty scales his HP and Attack up to 450 and 99 respectively. He is immune to Fire attacks, and takes +1 damage from Water and Ice attacks. He is fiery against attacks that make direct contact, and is also too hot to jump on with Ice Power. His attack also pierces invisibility, so don't waste your time using Outta Sight. Yawn - Not really much to say here. Another enemy that only inflicts 1 instance of damage per turn means it's another fight that gets completely destroyed by the Immortal Build. So I opted to try to beat this fight by damaging him only with attacks that strike his Water and Ice weaknesses. While I did opt to use Ice Power to turn Mario's attacks into Ice-type, the attacking badge I opted for was Frigid Stomp. Frigid Stomp is an attack that naturally already possesses the Ice element. However, Frigid Stomp is unique because it's the only way you can jump on an extreme fiery enemy like Nuclear Guy (and you don't need Ice Power to make it work). Attack boosts are facilitated with Flower Power, Ice Power, and Power Rush. Taking only 22 damage per turn is once again facilitated with Perfect Stand, Dark Shield, and Cloud Nine together. I will lose 2 Attack due to the use of Mega HP Drain, but that's enough to get 22 HP of recovery every round. Combined with Crazy Heart, I can go all out on attacking here as long as I keep Dark Shroom Cake regen. Stellar Nova's use is two-fold in this fight. Its first use is using Stellar Nova Time Out on turn 1 to get close to Dark Shield range immediately in preparation for when Nuclear Guy starts attacking. After that, it's ensuring Dark Shield stays active. Nuclear Guy is susceptible to two statuses; Sleep and Stop. However, he's more susceptible to the former than the latter. You can inflict Sleep on Nuclear Guy twice, or you can alternatively take the better option by inflicting Stop first, then Sleep second. Note that it does NOT work the other way around! You can't inflict Sleep first and Stop second; Stop specifically has to be inflicted first. He does have a -2 turn modifier on both statuses regardless though. To emphasize the targeting of his weaknesses, Lakilester and Sushie are the only partners needed. Sushie is the damage dealer with her Water-based attacks, and Lakilester is Cloud Nine support. However, Lakilester can also attack Nuclear Guy with Hurricane here since it deals Water-type piercing damage. Quick Change is used to enable using both partners freely. Fun fact: Frigid Stomp also lets you jump on an Electric enemy safely without getting zapped, even without Zap Tap equipped!
